QUILTS Awards 2024

Challenge

Frontline HIV service providers in the Philippines drive essential testing and treatment under severe resource constraints and social stigma. Despite their critical role in addressing a surging epidemic, these institutions often lack national visibility and systemic support. To address this gap, FHI360, under the USAID- and PEPFAR-funded EpiC Philippines project, required a platform to benchmark clinical excellence and unite fragmented public-private stakeholders.

Solution

Grupo Agatep conceptualized, staged, and managed the communications strategy for the 2024 QUILTS Awards at the San Jose del Monte Convention Center. Centered on a symbolic Philippine textiles theme, the agency handled end-to-end execution, embedding inclusive cultural performances alongside the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial. To reinforce policy weight, Grupo Agatep executed a targeted media campaign and press conference featuring DOH Secretary Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, securing coverage across 16 key outlets and distributing post-event multimedia content to sustain national dialogue.

Results

The platform convened hundreds of public health leaders, recognizing top-performing healthcare facilities, social hygiene clinics, and community organizations. Strategic media outreach generated widespread national coverage across broadcast, print, and digital channels, delivering PR value that significantly surpassed initial targets. High-level participation successfully reinforced national commitments to stigma reduction, treatment retention, and community-led care models.
