Mang Inasal Iloilo Store Reopening

Challenge

In 2003, a small grill shop in Iloilo sparked a national phenomenon with its signature Chicken Inasal, eventually expanding into a nationwide network of over 570 branches. Marking its 20th anniversary, Mang Inasal sought to reopen its historic birthplace at Robinsons Place Iloilo as a modern “5G” store. The challenge was to transform a routine store relaunch into a high-impact national campaign that celebrated its Ilonggo roots without sacrificing authentic brand heritage.

Solution

Under the theme “From First to Future,” the brand executed an immersive homecoming narrative featuring Dinagyang-inspired performances and the unveiling of the Mang Inasal Heritage Wall. Local government leaders, community partners, and media figures were engaged to position the location as both a cultural milestone and a modern tourist destination. Grupo Agatep spearheaded the multi-channel communications strategy, deploying targeted media outreach and real-time digital storytelling to amplify the local event into a nationwide celebration.

Results

Strategic media outreach doubled initial placement targets, securing widespread national coverage and delivering exceptional broadcast returns across television and radio. Digital execution drove millions of video views and Same-Day Edit plays, comfortably outperforming standard engagement benchmarks. Ultimately, the campaign generated overwhelmingly positive sentiment, re-establishing the original branch as a cultural landmark while deepening brand equity nationwide.
